Do you know why scientists first created fen phen? Researchers, doctors, and experts found that customers and dieters were not happy with the results, and prescriptions come with a lot of side effects if you didn’t know. Even Xenical (Alli), which is supposed to be safe, can cause some flat out nasty side effects.
Experts thought that fenfluramine and Phentermine would counteract each other’s side effects while combining to promote better weight loss, even though fenfluramine is not a weight loss ingredient. We all know what happened next. Fen phen was banned for causing nastier side effects than either prescription on its own, and ever since then, the FDA has refused to accept any Phentermine combinations.
But what’s so bad about prescription Phentermine? It’s the most popular prescription, and what side effects could possibly be that bad?
Phentermine generally causes side effects like a change in sex drive, insomnia, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, etc., which doesn’t necessarily sound incriminating. But unlike caffeine for example, Phentermine can also cause hypertension, heart disease, high blood pressure and cholesterol, euphoria, dysphoria, psychotic episodes, etc. It is only in the prescription world that a product with side effects like this would not be banned.
So why would you use a prescription?
You shouldn’t. Actually, I don’t know of anybody that should considering the relatively insignificant results and the major side effects associated with it.
